What is ELTERNTALK?

Elterngesprächsrunden von Eltern für Eltern.

> ELTERNTALK are parent-talks for all parents of children from 0 to 14 years of age.

> At ELTERNTALK we talk about media (smartphone, Internet, television, computer games), consumption (e.g. pocket money, branded clothing), education (e.g. perceiving feelings, setting limits) and addiction prevention (e.g. promoting independence, developing social skills).

> The discussion rounds focus on the exchange of experiences between parents. This often leads to new ideas and solutions suitable for everyday life.

> The discussion groups are moderated by mothers and fathers who work on a voluntary basis. These moderators are trained for their task.

> ELTERNTALKs take place in small groups. Either at home at the kitchen table or in a cosy place near your home (e.g. family centre).

> Mothers and fathers choose the time of day for a ELTERNTALK themselves.

> ELTERNTALK talks are held in many different languages.

> A discussion round lasts about 2 hours. Further talks will take place if interested.

> Participation is free for all parents.

WHO IS ELTERNTALK FOR?

ELTERNTALK is for all parents with children up to 14 years of age.

ELTERNTALK is a voluntary offer for all parents of children between 0 and 14 years of age who want to deal with questions, challenges and experiences of everyday parenting.

ELTERNTALK takes place in German, Turkish, Russian, Arabic and many other languages... Parents who speak little or no German can participate in their mother tongue.

Taking part in ELTERNTALK is simple and uncomplicated. ELTERNTALK is personal, "comes" to parents' homes or takes place near their place of residence. This makes it easier for mothers and fathers to participate.

ELTERNTALK TOPICS

Media. Consumerism. Addiction prevention. Education.

At what age is a mobile/smartphone useful? What are the dangers for children on the Internet and how do I accompany my child when using the Internet, tablet and co? What to do if television and PC games are a constant point of contention? How much pocket money is recommended? How can I perceive my child's needs? What freedom can I give my children, where should I set limits? How do I protect my child from alcohol and drugs? What strengthens our children and what is particularly important to me in their education?

These and similar questions arise in daily family life and sometimes put parents to the test. ELTERNTALK takes up topics related to the so-called "educational protection of children and young people" and offers parents the opportunity to reflect on the topics of media, consumption, upbringing and addiction prevention and above all: have a say!
